My friends Taya and Alexey are having a baby. I hosted a baby shower in their honour and was totally stumped for a theme.
My dear friend Lizzie suggested we have afternoon tea. What a marvellous idea! If you ever need ideas for a party,Lizzie's your gal!
I'm always one to do everything to the max... So out come the vintage teacups and junk-shop finds. They looked lovely and the menu was planned but what to give as little party favours? After much head-scratching, I discovered the wonderful world of dolls house china! Why not make teacup themed jewellery?
The teacup necklaces were originally going to be made with sterling silver, but that does not have the"vintage" look. Vintage, after all, was integral to the theme of the tea party. I then discovered vintage bronze chain and findings - not something I have ever used before. I think they look wonderful with the china and the lucite flowers I discovered for my birthday party (but that's another story).
My teacup jewellery looks very different to the other stuff that's out there because I add flowers, bronze charms, crystals, pearls... They're all dangly and jingly, I absolutely love them!
Here they are:

Using the antique bronze style findings has expanded to incorporating bicycles and birdcages as well! This could become a whole new genre of jewellery for me :-)
